Singer-songwriter Susan Paulette DePhillip is among the hardest-working and most versatile musicians on the Richmond scene today. With over thirty years of gigging experience and boundless dedication to her craft, she brings a refreshing blend of professionalism and passion to every project she takes part in. Her distinctive vocals and carefully curated repertoire have been featured in various music ensembles around the Commonwealth over that span, including About Time, an acoustic trio [from Blacksburg, VA]; Cellophane Rain, an electric, original band[, also out of Blacksburg]; and Midnight Traffic Jam, a classic rock/blues jam band [in Richmond]. In 2005, Susan earned a Music Education degree in classical guitar from VCU and taught private guitar lessons of all styles and levels from her home studio in Chester for 15 years. She has been active in the worship band and music ministry at Chester United Methodist Church and has also performed with the VCU Community Guitar Ensemble. She released her first album of original music “Wine, Tears, & Rain” with Suzie and the G-Tones in 2016 and currently in Richmond, she currently plays acoustic and performs lead vocals and rhythm guitar in the The Hashbury Collective, Not Fade Away Band, and Mama Sue & The Piglets.
